Jeff Cooper - Principles of Personal Defense
Hello,
A few days ago one of my friends asked me to read a book written by Jeff Cooper and give him my thoughts on the book. I have heard Jeff Cooper’s name since I was a young man. He was always mentioned in the topic of handguns. The book is named, “Principles of Personal Defense”.
Jeff Cooper is often referred to as the father of modern handgun shooting and handgun defense.
I was not really interested in reading a book on handgun skills, even if Jeff Cooper wrote it, I have too many other books ahead of his that need reading first. But my friend sent me a rough PDF version that he had found on the internet and asked me to give him my thoughts on the book. The file he linked me to was unreadable at points and was missing illustrations, so I found an ebook version on Amazon and ordered it. To my surprise the book only includes a few brief sentences on firearms/handguns. The book is on mental survival principles while dealing with threats, bad men.
The ebook is easy to read, approximately an hour and a half to read. This book is well worth the $10.00 cost of the ebook/Kindle. Regardless of your experience in dealing with bad men, read this book and refresh your mental sharpness or gift this book to a loved one so they can develop their survival skills.
Most all of the principles mentioned by Jeff Cooper in this book I already knew and some of them were applied by me at times of personal peril. Applying these principles kept me alive.
I did not learn these survival principles from Jeff Cooper and Jeff Cooper did not invent them. These principles have been around since the beginning of mankind. Jeff Cooper was nice enough to remind us that they work.
Special thanks to Louis Awerbuck for his contribution in keeping this book available and his personal insight to Jeff Cooper.
Thank you for reading,,,,,,
