I’ve taken the SteriPen with me on trips to Romania and deep inside the Mekong Delta of South Vietnam. I simply place it into my carry-on bag; only once did the TSA ask me to explain it. I’ve taken it on trips inside the United States and have treated the tap water on occasion, when bottled water was not available.

I gifted a SteriPen to a friend who travels monthly into Central and South America. He has used it with confidence.

It runs on “4” AAA batteries; if you are going for a week , take an extra “4” batteries.
